Dragonball Information

The story of Dragon Ball follows the life of Son Goku, a monkey-tailed boy loosely inspired by the classical Chinese novel Journey to the West (西遊記). During his life, he fights many battles and eventually becomes the strongest martial artist in the entire universe. He is not without help, however, as the manga has a large ensemble cast of martial artist heroes and villains which provide the conflicts which drive the story.

The eponymous Dragon Balls are one component of the universe, but are not the focus for most of the plot lines. The Dragon Balls themselves are seven magical orbs which are scattered across the world. When assembled, they can be used to summon Shenlong, the dragon who will grant one wish within its limit. After the wish is granted, the Dragon Balls are scattered again across the world and become inert for one year. In times past, it would take generations to search the world and gather the Dragon Balls. In the beginning of the story, however, a 16 year old genius girl named Bulma has created a "Dragon Radar" to detect the Dragon Balls and made the process far easier than it was originally intended to be.

Dragonball Z Information

Gokuu disappeared into a strange realm and emerged as a super-Saiyajin. Combat is now emphasized rather than the toilet humor and story of the last series. In recent storylines, the plot centers on 4 androids from the future who came to kill Gokuu and fights everyone who tries to protect him. Cell, one of the 4 androids, absorbs 2 of the others to become capable of destroying the universe. Gohan, Gokuu's son, is the only one who can stop him since he has been shown to be more powerful -- and faster -- than his father.

Dragonball GT Information

The story starts 10 years into the future (from the epilogue of DBZ). The main characters are Son Goku, Trunks, and Pan. However, although Goku is Pan's grandfather, he looks like an 11 years old kid.

Apparently Pilaf and company reappears and are up to their usual convenience. This time old Pilaf, still wanting to rule the world, desires to become younger. However, they accidentally turn Goku into a child instead, using the "Ultimate Dragon Balls."

Goku snags the runaway robot, Gil. Although Goku is now a child, he is as powerful as he was before, however the only exception being that he loses his shunkan idou (teleportation) skill. Trying to return Son Goku back to normal and saving earth from certain destruction is the mission of the GT adventurers, a journey that propels them to the depths of space and into new surprises. (The long lost "Ultimate Dragon Balls" disperse all across the universe when a wish is granted).

Trunks sees parts flying off of the spaceship they're in! Goku and his friends encounter new enemies on other planets and Goku meets his match with a character named "Bebii," which was created by the Tsufurujin race to destroy the Saiyajin. Goku even reaches the Super Saiyajin Level 4 power. Later, the GT Adventurers have to deal with seven, evil dragons.
